A very good quality German Stradivarius Copy Circa 1880
April 30, 2014
This violin has just landed at our shop, fresh from the workshop. It's a very nice German copy of a Strad (spelled rather precariously on the back of the scroll). Never the less this violin is of a great quality. The choice of wood is excellent and the varnish is very nicely applied and is a wonderfully rich orange brown with shines of golden yellow which flicker through in certain lights. The back is a two piece evenly flamed maple and the table is of an evenly grained pine.
All in all a very nice violin. And the best thing is it will be going up for auction with no reserve with starting bids of £1 in the coming weeks! So to potentially own this antique violin for as little as one pound watch this space for updates on how and where to bid.
Failing that if you would like to simply buy the violin now, we would happily accept £1850.
