V116 Excellent French Mirecourt 3/4

A lovely 3/4 sized violin probably made by the Laberte workshop in France around 1890. Made in the typical Mirecourt French style with a black lined scroll and a vivid flamed maple two piece back.
Easily one of the better French 3/4 violins we have seen, it is rare to get such a well made instrument of this size.
The length of the back is 337 mm.
A Fine German 3/4 Sized Violin

A lovely German 3/4 violin made by an unknown maker. The violin is beautifully made with a magnificent one piece back made of vivid flamed maple which seem to dance when viewed at different angles.
The innards are fully blocked and lined and the scroll is neatly cut. This violin projects as well as a full sized equivalent and is a joy to play. Probably the best fractional sized violin we have ever seen.

An English Ladies Violin made by P. Cracknell 1921

An interesting English violin "made especially for Gladys". The violin is neatly made by a skilled amature maker perhaps for a loved one named Gladys. The two piece back is made from an unusual wood, the purfling is neatly inlaid and the innards are fully lined and blocked.

A Nicely made German 1/2 sized violin, made in the 1800s. The two piece back is made of attractive flamed maple, and the front is a medium-broad grained spruce. Overall a nice antique instrument for a budding young player.

1/8 Size French Violin, Mirecourt circa 1900

A lovely little 1/8th size French violin made by the famous firm J.T.L. in the late 1800s, early 1900s in either Paris or Mirecourt, both renowned areas of violin making at the time.
Medio Fino violins are praised for their high quality and exceptional sound quality and these small sized Medio-Fino models have a very good reputation.
The back is made from a single piece of maple and the table is a wide grained spruce. The scroll is very neatly cut and the innards are fully blocked and lined.
The length of the back is 267 mm.
