This is a lovely French violin made in Mirecourt sometime in the late 1800s.  The label simply states "Joly" which can attribute this violin to a Louis Joly who was allegedly a luthier in Mirecourt at around the period this violin was made.

It's in a great state of preservation, a few cosmetic dings here and there to be expected of a violin of this age but otherwise in very, very good condition.  It plays beautifully with a warm, sweet tone with plenty of character.

The length of the back is 360 mm.
